HYPOGLYCEMIA INCREASES THE RISK OF DEMENTIA

The scientists from the U.S. Health Insurance Kaiser Pemanente reported that severe hypoglycemia by people with Type 2 diabetes increases the risk of development of dementia.  They evaluated the insured data of the people with type 2 diabetes who were hospitalized because of severe hypoglycemia. These patients were suffering from dementia more frequently. Three severe Hypoglycemias in fact double the dementia risk.

The experts highly recommend that such patients should visit the doctor very often to avoid the risk.
